Biography

Megan Hillerud, a distinguished glass artist from Alberta, Canada, has made a significant impact in the world of glass sculpture. She began her artistic journey studying Photography at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, followed by foundational studies at the Alberta College of Art and Design, where she was first introduced to glass blowing. Her passion for the arts led her to the Fine Arts program at Grant MacEwen Community College, and she later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in metal sculpture from the University of Alberta. She assisted Glass artists Mitchell Gaudet and Stephen Paul Day in summer workshops at Red Deer College before pursuing Graduate school. Megan further honed her glass and sculpture expertise by completing a Master of Fine Arts at Tulane University in New Orleans, studying under Gene Koss. With a robust background in both artistic practice and academia, she served years as an Adjunct professor at Tulane and is currently a Visiting Professor there, continuing to inspire and educate the next generation of glass artists.
