Biography

As a passionate maker, educator, and community builder, Ina Kaur is driven by a deep-seated desire to address pressing global issues such as political turmoil, ecological imbalances, and social injustice. Being an interdisciplinary practitioner, she adeptly employs intersectional frameworks in her work.  Ina's dedication to craft practices and contemporary critical discourse has garnered national and international recognition. Whether within her studio or in the community, she engages within the context of decolonial practices to challenge power structures and question prevailing social and cultural norms.  She has received many awards, is recognized for her creative studio research, and has exhibited internationally. Her works are also part of many prestigious permanent collections.  Ina joins Tulane as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Ceramics and will serve as a Community Arts Coordinator for the Newcomb Art Museum. Ina envisions building meaningful relationships and empowering individuals and communities to discover their voices and bring positive change.
