In 1996 the extensive renovation of the Woldenberg Art Center was completed and the beautiful 1920’s era natatorium that once housed the women’s swimming pool became the new primary foundry and fabrication space for the sculpture area. The expansive and day-lit space was fitted with a new 2 ton bridge crane, storage, lighting, ventilation and foundry facilities as well as the complete range equipment for welding, forging and other metal fabrication processes. The versatile studio allows great flexibility to accommodate a range of other materials and processes including work in stone, plaster, cement, resin, mixed-media. A separate, large and fully equipped wood working shop provides students with access to stationary and portable wood working equipment within a secure and well ventilated studio. Private and semi-private studios are available for graduate and advanced undergraduate students.
